Dress Code

All classes
In general, girls should wear a leotard and tights, and boys should wear sport shorts and a t-shirt. Don’t forget to take care of your dance apparel. Please wash your outfit after each class and label your shoes and clothing with a permanent marker. Long hair should be tied up away from the face.

Combo Classes (Ages 2-9)
Clothing: tights and leotard or dance wear
Footwear: pink ballet shoes, black tap shoes (please do not purchase foam “slippers” in lieu of ballet shoes)

Ballet Classes
Clothing: tights and leotard (no t-shirts or cover ups, if weather is cold, warm ups may be worn for first two barre exercises only)Footwear: pink ballet slippers

Tap Classes
Clothing: dance or exercise wear (no t-shirts or cover-ups)
Footwear: black tap shoes

Preschool

Dancing Babes
A fun intro to dance for ages 2-3.
Preschool Combo
Ballet and tap for ages 3-4, with no dance experience.
PreK Combo
Ballet and tap for ages 3-4 with at least one year of experience.
KCombo
Ballet and tap for ages 4-5 with no dance experience.
K2Combo
Ballet and tap for ages 4-5 with at least one year of experience

Youth

Ballet I
Beginning class for ages 7+. Learn the fundamentals of ballet and the basic ideas of movement and music.
Ballet I/II
Beginning class for those that have a good understanding of Ballet I. Reinforces fundamentals of ballet as well as improving strength and flexibility. Also builds upon the ballet vocabulary.
Ballet II
Intermediate ballet class for those that demonstrate a good understanding of Ballet I/II. Increased attention is placed upon body line, strength and flexibility.
Ballet II/III
Intermediate ballet class for those that have an excellent understanding of Ballet II, as well as a strong work ethic and discipline. This class is much more aggressive in its pace and builds upon all previous classes as it explores greater expression. (By teacher recommendation only.)
Ballet III
Intermediate advanced ballet class for those that have excelled in Ballet II/III. Continuing difficulty and greater expression. (By teacher recommendation only.)
Ballet III/IV
Advanced ballet class for those with 3+ years of experience and knowledge of all ballet terminology. (By teacher recommendation only.)
Pointe
Pointe students are required to take Ballet III/IV. Please see instructor for an individual evaluation. (By teacher recommendation only.)
Broadway Bound (Competitive Dance)
Musical theatre-focused class. Heavy in tap. Must have a minimum of four years of tap experience. (By teacher recommendation only.)
Hip Hop
Students should enroll in an age-appropriate class. No technique or experience is necessary.
Jazz I
Beginning class for ages 7+. Students will be introduced to basic turns and leaps through floor work and will combine these steps to music.
Jazz I/II
Builds upon the fundamentals of Jazz I, adding more contemporary aspects as well as increased endurance, flexibility, body control and strength.
Jazz II
Intermediate class for ages 9+. Students should have knowledge of basic turns and leaps, chaines, pirouettes, piques, front and side leaps. Class will move into more complicated turns and leaps, such as fouettes, tours, double chaines and pirouettes and will learn several combinations across the floor which will be incorporated into dance routines.
Jazz III
Advanced class for ages 11+. Students should be able to perform no less than double turns. Class will move into triple turns and more difficult combinations and apply these techniques within dance rountines. Jazz III students are required to take Advanced Turns & Leaps. (By teacher recommendation only.)
Lyrical
Beginning class for ages 7+. No previous experience necessary.
Lyrical II
Intermediate class for ages 9+ with at least one year of lyrical or ballet experience.
Lyrical III
Advanced class for ages 11+ with at least two years of ballet or lyrical experience. Lyrical III students are required to take Advanced Turns & Leaps.
Tap I
Students will learn basic tap steps, including time steps and combinations, and will apply these techniques within dance routines.
Advanced Turns & Leaps
Advanced class for ages 11+ with at least three years of recent dance experience. Class covers doubles, triple pirouettes, and strong leaps with good flexability. Knowledge of terminology required. (By teacher recommendation only.)

Michelle
Combo I/II: Black Mary Janes (tap) and pink ballet shoes.
Combo II: Black Mary Janes (tap) and black Grecian sandals/pedinis.
Broadway Bound: Block show tapper and black pedini/Grecian sandals.
Tap 12+: Bloch showtapper Cuban heel.

Roxi
Jazz: Black jazz boot with no laces.
Hip Hop: Dedicated street shoe sneaker.
Tap: Black oxford (jazz) tap shoe with laces.

Sara
Ballet I and I/II: Pink full sole ballet shoe.
Ballet II, II/III and III: Pink split sole ballet shoe.
Combo: Pink (girls) or black (boys) full sole ballet shoe.

Toby
Jazz: Black split sole with no laces.
Lyrical: Nude foot paw or bare feet.
Turns and Leaps: Same as Jazz.
Ballet: Pink split sole leather or canvas.
